The formation of a well established social service institution was deeply felt
by some interested Muslim brethren from Sri Lanka who were employed in
Saudi Arabia. Their initial effort resulted in the formation of the ‘Association
of Muslim Youth of Sailan’ in 1990 in Sri Lanka. This association gained all
legal status as it is being incorporated under Registrar of Companies (No.
NA 620) and registered under the Department of Muslim Religious and
Cultural Affairs (No. MRCA/13/co/31) and registered as a non
governmental organization under the ministry of social services (No.
L38904). The first office of this association was declared open at Borella
on 29th July 1997. By the help of Allah, this association has showed rapid
growth and served the masses of Sri Lanka in numerous ways. This
association has shifted its office to Mardana on 15th of September 2004.

To educate the Muslims to understand Islam in its pristine pure form and
to propagate the same among others.

To serve the community to develop their education, social and cultural
values and to guide them to gain formal and technical education to bring
out their talents and abilities.

To serve poor masses, help orphanages, and organize social service
activities.

To attain self-sufficiency in all our basic needs by developing and utilizing
all the available human resources.

To provide health services and educate ,guide and propagate vigilant
knowledge of health education and hygiene.

To serve the victims of all natural disasters.

To develop close links and association with other National and
International Social Service Institutions so as to gain mutual benefits.

Activities
In Coincide with (AMYS)'s faith in its humanitarian mission and
developmental vision, it devoted special attention to charity work
in Srilanka and extended financial and moral aid to chaste,
modest, needy and poor families where the organization achieved
a lot of honourable achievements by which it its humanitarian in
the process of the local development for the greater number of
the refugees, needy, poor and low income individuals.

The organization made it an issue to bear the responsibility of
extending assistance to the needy in Srilanka. It is, by the blessing
of God, and through the unlimited support received by the
organization from local citizens and expatriates in the gulf area,
that the organization was able to successfully achieve this goal.
